Cindy is a Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Health and Community in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Her research focuses on improving health risk communication and dialogue with vulnerable and marginalized populations, thereby empowering individuals and communities to make informed decisions on health risk behaviours. In recent years, Cindy has been involved in several studies on risk communication and vaccine preventable diseases, including one on risk communication and immunization decision-making by recent immigrant mothers. Her current research projects are in the areas of immigrant and refugee immunizations, and Indigenous youth as agents of change for community wellness.
